Nerja - Getting connected

So today was a day to get a connection for Wendy to work.  We had done some investigating over the week-end and found out we could rent a device that allows you to use satellite internet.  Speed should be OK, but it may be pricy, we’ll see how it goes.  Shops here only open at 10 or 10:30 so a little late start.

Started off this morning with a run/jog/walk along the water.  There is a nice path going the other direction that we have been walking every day, I think this will be our new morning ritual.  It is another beautiful day, still not too hot, somewhere around 15-18 but windy which feel fresher, but much nicer than at home we think.

Internet all hooked up now, works great, just need to worry about usage.  Andre has looked at usage at home, ouch, this is going to be $$$$.  I am really going to need to try to watch my connection time, good news is the free internet seems to be working again so Andre can blog and research for free, but I don’t trust it for work.

The new magic internet connection box, small enough to put in your pocket when travelling

Took a quick lunch break and went for a walk along the beach.  First time I have had my feet in the water, a little cool, but we have 2 or 3 people swimming.  It will have to warm up quite a bit for us to get in.  We brought bathing suits with us, but we were thinking more Morocco than Spain.

Andre walked to the regular grocery store this afternoon while I worked, only a 20 minute walk so I guess we will be doing this more now too.  Parking isn’t easy to find near our apartment, so we will leave the car parked when possible.  If you take the long way to it, you follow a path next to a small river.  Along the way, Andre saw a few birds, mostly chickadees and pigeon along with one egret.  Next to the path children were doing soccer practice in a soccer field.  There is also a bocce club that you can pay to play.  Very reasonable, so we will need to give that a try one day after work.

After work today we went exploring for free tapas, no luck.  Many places are closed on Sunday and Monday so I guess we will try again tomorrow.  We walked around many of the little side streets, so many shops I have no idea how they all survive off season.  We did buy a bottle of sherry that is made in Spain at a liquor store, just what we need is more liquor.  But, Andre says it will be good to cook with too.

Tomorrow the market is in town, sure that Andre will venture in to see what the Gypsy bring this way.
