Off to Antigua

Off on our first flight to Toronto where we will connect with Joey and on to Antigua.  Luckily for us Grant is on the first flight with us at 5AM going to Mixed Curling Nationals, so we are able to overnight with Grant and Elaine and leave our car at their place in Moncton.  Off to Antigua this year mostly because it was the least expensive when we were looking at flights with Joey this summer.

At Moncton airport, each airline company decorated a tree

Saying bye to the NB December weather. No de-icing required when it's raining

Rain also in Toronto
Antigua is located east and south of Puerto Rico

Antigua has 2 main island, Antigua and Barbuda. Total Population is 100,000. Only 2,000 live on Barbuda.

Flying over Barbuda

Golf course resort being built on Barbuda

Long Island just off the main island of Antigua. Oprah has a house here and other famous people. 5+ star resort as well

The industrial port as almost everything gets shipped here

Cades reef, We had hope to do a boat trip here to go snorkeling but heard that it was not great

new subdivision but all the houses are painted in pastel colours

St John's Harbour, city more to the right. The city is more on the right.  The NCL Jade in port, the ship we did the transatlantic on a couple of weeks ago.

Arriving at the airport, Immigration was super easy and fast, grabbed a taxi and were at the hotel quickly

Saturday street DJ music in the afternoon

Our hotel on the right

Went for a walk to explore the town before it got dark

Not Cheap, EC is their local currency, divide by 2 to get Cdn $. 126EC = 63CDN or 48US
