This morning we decided to go visit the castle at the end of the island. It opens at 8:30, so Wendy will need to work a little bit late today to make up the time but just a little as her hours are 9 to 5.
We started our walk going counter clockwise as this is the long way to the castle.

The rooftop that they cleaned up yesterday |

Not sure who is hoping more for a fish, the man or the cat |

Wendy liked the man using his car to pull the net |
|
He got a big one. They had to put the net together, then one person climbed over the rail and down to the water. |
Then we visited the fort, we got there at 8:25 and were told to come back in 5 minutes. Tried to pay the 8 Euro entrance fee with a 20 Euro bill but were asked for something smaller. Used all my coins and a 5 Euro. We are down to 20 Euros now, will need to find a bank later.

Where the canons used to be. Must have been 50 of them like this |

An early lunch walk and we have 2 errands to do. Get water and find a bank machine. We also did a walk around the island as it was very nice. The wind is down and the sun is out. About 20 degrees. Found a bank and were happy that we could take out 500 Euro at one time. I think it was Portugal that we were only allowed 200 Euros. That hurts when you have to pay the bank fees, but that was a few years ago, maybe you can do 500 now.
Actually a 3rd errand as well, I broke another wine glass, we are back down to 3, found another little store that sells a few things near the water dispenser so picked one up. I will post a picture one day of our drying rack in the kitchen, you will quickly understand how easy it is to break dishes here. Also we forgot playing cards this trip, bought a deck of cards for 1Euro, opened them up, we have no idea what they are, some kind of Sicilian game I guess. Will have to do some research, maybe we need to learn a new game.

An old one, I am sure Wendy would not like to drive it on some of the streets we been on, much to wide and long. |

The water is so clear |

Someone enjoying the water |

Wildlife picture |

Only got part of the water as the machine would not take the 1 and 2 cents coins. I'll be back. |
Another walk before supper. I was thinking it might be a great sunset as I could see some clouds but it only turned out average. The clouds did not light up as much as they sometimes do at home. Often there are no clouds in the sky here. Still beautiful. We hung around the marina promenade until the sun had set. Lots more people at the bars and restaurants tonight compared to the last few weeks enjoying the weather and the sunset

The bars and restaurants owners must be happier now |

15 feet from shore, a fisherman set his net |
Supper consisted of the leftover mushroom pasta from last night. Looks at planning next weekend (the Baroque towns) and also the following as we have no plans yet for it.
On a not so good note, the internet has been super slow today. Hopefully it just a 1 day thing as it has been reasonable so far. The funny thing is surfing and downloading stuff is fine. It is the upload that is painfully slow as when I am uploading pictures for the blog. Normally, it would take take me about 30 minutes for 30 pictues. But yesterday they were failing to even upload. At home it would only be 2 minutes at the most. Will see what will happen tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
That is quite the wildlife you have there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are eating the same thing, just different recipes. Tonight, we had leftover mushroom risotto.
ReplyDeleteYou might have to dry the wine glasses directly instead of putting them on the drying rack..We need 4 for April 11. Ha.
