St Andrews NB Dec 2020

A quick 1 night visit to St Andrews to get away.

We were booked earlier in the year but had to move the date because of covid.

Farm between Moncton and Sussex

A well know name in the Maritimes.  This one is in Sussex

Saint John NB

Almost there

After checking in, we headed into town for a lunch and a walk. Rossmount Inn is about 5 KM from town

Rossmount Inn

One of the many shops in town

Xmas tree at the town square

Lunchtime

Smoked meat grilled cheese, yummmm!

St Andrews has many historical homes, we explored a few side streets looking at them.

St Andrews also has many churches

The Algonquin resort

We headed back to the rest. Decided to go back to town to look at the Xmas lights.

Back at the Inn for a late dinner. This was the only time that was left when we booked.  Because of covid the number of dinners is reduced.  The meal was delicious.

Days 2

After a great breakfast we decided to do the hike behind the inn. To the top of Chamcook Mountain, it was just short of 3KM but all up  and all down on the way back.  The trails were good with just a bit on snow on them.  Great views at the top.

One of the lookouts

The Algonquin

On the way down, we stopped and looked at some of the old building that were once used.

Not spacious but confortable

A short drive to see Chamcook Lake.

Another hike stop on the way home, about 5KM from the Inn

We stopped at the Birch Groove restaurant for lunch
