Stormy Wednesday

An overcast and windy day to start the day today.  Hard to believe what a difference a couple of days makes.  Most days the water is perfectly calm here, not today the surf is up!

Calmer on the west side

Finally got a decent picture, this guy has been elusive hiding in the rocks fishing

This is as exciting as wildlife gets here

Statue near the market

On our lunch walk we went off to the island to find a restaurant the I found that make homemade pasta to take out and cook at home.  This is something we have been looking for.  It is just a little restaurant/shop, he had a bunch of tapas made up that we bought to go with our salad for lunch, we will be back for pasta.  Not sure if it was a vegetarian place, but there was no meat in any of the tapas, not sure what they were all called, but the eggplant one was delicious.
Still windy at lunchtime

Stage for something???

Lunchtime for the pigeons as well

This reminded me of me and my dad 50 years ago.

Statue between the 2 bridges.

Parking near the waters edge, you get sea water on your car.  Today you can even taste the salt in the air
After lunch I took my tripod out to try to get some better wave pictures.  It is so windy even the tripod was moving. Did not stay overly long as it was chilly and my lens kept getting

Not too worried about safety, 50 feet up

This is why you get sea water on your car

For supper we decided to go to the 100 year old fishermans restaurant, but first needed quite a few steps to reach Wendys goal of 20,000 per day.  Walked around town, then to try to find the restaurant again on these really tiny streets in this area, finally found it and closed.  So off to another place we wanted to try.  Sat down and wow this is a place full of every nic nac you could possibly have.  Two other tables there, both Canadians from the West, they weren't overly friendly to us, oh well we're pretty used to talking to just each other now.  Dinner was good, wine was very cheap, in price and taste.  Nothing matched in the restaurant, different cutlery, different plates, different glasses even on the same tables.  It was good, but so many more places to try we probably won't be back.

I wanted to break a 100 Euro bill, so used it at supper tonight.  This is what I got back in coins.  Should be good for the market and parking for a few days....

9 euros in change from supper.

The joke is on me today as my cell phone did not record my steps on the morning walk.
