Day 3 Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

We have booked flights to go to Iguazu Falls for 2 nights.  We leave our luggage at the Bed in Breakfast we are staying in as we will return there for a couple more nights when we return to Buenos Aires.

Taxi rates in Buenos Aires posted on the back of the drivers seat.  Approx $.75 USD when you get in, then $.75 each km after that.  So inexpensive.  We only had one time we thought we were scammed, a taxi meter was clicking way too fast, but we got it at a popular tourist spot and it was really busy.  Still didn't pay more than $10 for the 15 minute ride, but that meter sure clicked fast!

Snack on the place, delicious

Airport pickup, we booked our falls tours and pickup in advance with Nordic  as we are on such limited time and needed specific days for the tours, no time for shopping around.  We were only 2 families in the van so no need to drive all over with drop offs.

Tons of yellow butterflies

Family of Coati cross the road on the drive to our hotel from the airport, bad picture, but nice memory

German style home

We were told there was a big screen in the park, unless we were in the wrong park, none here

We chose to stay on the Argentian side Puerto Iguazu which turned out to be so much fun.  Argentina was in the semi finals of the world cup and won!  So much fun watching a TV screen outside in a smallish city where "everyone" comes to the town square to celebrate after the win.

Outside the bar where we watched the game.  These young people went and bought their liquor somewhere else then parked their bikes to watch the game outside the bar

When Argentina won stores locked up and you had to order from outside.  It was so busy with people, police closed streets to cars.  So much celebrating, very fun.

After the game we walked to Las Tres Fronteras which is a view point where you can see 2 rivers and 3 countries. Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.  A new bridge has been built in the last year we were told.

Dinner tonight chorizo sausage with chimichurri from a street vendor just past our hotel, very yummy.

View from our hotel room, for some reason we had a 3 bedroom apartment where the manager used to live.

Got a couple of beer from the front desk fridge.
