Cape Horn

 Sea days 2

Dec 23 we are scheduled to do a tour in Stanley to see King Penguins, this was a private tour that you really need to book at least 6 months in advance, and what we were looking forward to the most.  As luck would have it we are trying to stay ahead of a hurricane so our stop in Stanley in cancelled.  We knew when we booked this tour there was a 50/50 chance it would be cancelled, that is the norm.  Unfortunately we were on the wrong 50 side. It is cancelled so often that the tour operator does not even take any deposit or money in advance, just pay when you get there.

So our next adventure is seeing Cape Horn, it is not quite a rough as I was expecting, but sea sick meds were doing their job.

Cape Horn Dec 24

To fill time on sea days we went to Spanish lessons

we supplemented the spanish lessons with liquor

Along with liquor we ate a lot!

Today someone brought around ice cream on the deck that was like a popsicle

Supper tonight

View from our room with no window.  They have a bow cam that you can watch on your TV, it is getting nasty out there!

You know it is rough when they hang barf bags on the stair cases

We never played bingo or went to the casino.  They also had this deal or no deal game that was fun to watch.  You need to find something to do on sea days!

We heard about this hiding ducks on cruises, first time we have seen this.  We hid it in a bar menu after we found

Pool area, most of the entire cruise these chairs were not put out, not a sunning pool cruise

The buffet always had an oriental noodle bar

Yes, it was that cold

Ceremony when you go around Cape Horn, Cape Horn Baptism.  Some senior crew members did it, then guests lined up.  We did not partake

Cape Horn

Crew were freezing.  NO chairs set out at all, it was too rough and cold

Christmas Eve carol singing in the lobby.
