Second Sea day

You can pretty much read day 4 and get what happened today.  It is significantly warmer today on deck as we are heading south. There are not many places to sit out in the shade, so we actually spend a good part of the afternoon on our balcony with Joey and our books.

We did go to the family feud game with Liam, we played Andre and Liam vs Joey and I.  One of the questions was what is something you only use once, Liam and André answered condom, don't think Joey is going to let Liam play with André any more.

We had a “light” lunch today as André, Joey and I are going to the chefs dinner tonight.  This was our Christmas present to Joey this year. It is a 7 course meal with wine included that only 12 people attend.  I read about it online and found out how you can reserve before getting on board, so we are booked.  I'll anxious to see if it is worth it.

Liam has been in and out of the room maybe 20 times telling us where he is off to. It is kind of tiring just watching him so I've had a few naps.  Kyle stays in the hallways a couple of times today instead of coming in, that is pretty much it.  Roles have totally reversed, they grow up so quickly, won't be long before Liam doesn't really want to spend too much time with us either.

Liam has been going to quite a few of the club events as well, but they were so late getting back from their scavenger hunt yesterday the counsellors were not very impressed.

We did a few walks around the ship today, which we tend to be longer than we need because I'm still confused which direction I am heading, whether I am at the front or the back, and whether the place I am trying to get to is the front or the back. At one point I gave up and came back to the room. Joey and André went exploring.  They came back about ½ hour later killing themselves laughing because they had stopped at the casino.  Turns out they were playing the penny slots and Joey won $84.00 on the penny slots, it was the third pull and it took that long to play out.  She decided on the 3rd pull to bid the maximum, which was .90, good thing she pressed the big money button!!  I'm a little worried now because she said “can you imagine if I was playing the $5.00 slots!!”.  She is now paying the tip for supper tonight, and she says her mango margarita for the beach tomorrow is looked after.

We're on the balcony now, another whale sighting, and it is about time to get cleaned up for our chefs dinner.  Thought I better update this now, because free wine and drinks will not mix well with a trip report later I'm sure.  Tomorrow is Manzanillo, still have no clue how the time zones work, but we'll figure that one out tomorrow.  We're so hoping for a beach day, the adults are all a little tired of the crowded cruise ship atmosphere, but we are loving being together, and have concluded the free lemonade and iced tea go fine with tequila and rum!

What a fun night, the chefs table was so worth it.  First we started off with a galley (kitchen) tour, and in the galley we were served 4 different appetizers and a glass of champagne.  It brought back lots of memories of the Banff Springs for all of us being in the kitchen with so many servers/cooks.

After the galley tour we were taken to the disco which they had set with a table for 11.  Here we were served a fabulous 7 course meal including wine.  The presentation was fantastic.  You are not given any choices. They just keep bringing you food.  Before we went we were called to see if we had any food allergies, that was it, the chef got to prepare what they wanted.  There were so many different sauces/emulsions, everything was very very pretty.  Dinner took nearly 3 hours. We had very nice people sitting beside us so it was a nice evening with lots of fantastic food.

After dinner the 3 of us went to the hypnotist show, he had already selected everyone from the audience and they were under.  I was so full I thought I might throw up laughing.  He did a fantastic job. He had people of all ages up there, doing things I'm sure they would have never done if not directed by him.  I think it counts as exercise as we all laughed so hard.  Wish the kids would have been with us, they would have loved it.  Joey picked up Liam at 10 from the kids club, then off to bed for a good rest before our first day on shore!
