In Merida on Sundays the city closes
about 5KM of roads for cycling only. After breakfast we walked to
Santa Lucia Park and rented 1 bike for me. One bike is in the
apartment. Somebody who rents here leaves it here and we have access
to it. It is the right height for Wendy.
After renting we headed south and biked
along the Paseo Montego. This is where the fancy house were build.
There a divided road and they close one side for the bikers. A few
monuments are in the major intersections.

We stopped for a smoothie. We had the Grande size which was probably close to 1 liter size. Booster Juice would have severe competition here. We also people watch for a while. There are all sizes of bikes from
regular to some that seat at least 6.

We then return to Santa Lucia Park and
bike to Plaza Grande and north from there. This area is more
residential with a few churches. Lots of services being done since it is Easter Sunday. At one church there was communion being done. I walked in and I just made it in time and walked back out. We had to stop for an ice cream
break as it was now getting hot. A 2 scoop ice cream was about
$1.00. I see lots of ice cream for me in my future.

We then return to Santa Lucia Square to
return my bike. Cost for 2.5 hours was 50 pesos or around $3.50. The
conversion reate is about 14 pesos for $1.00. We stayed at the square
and watched a band play for a while. Many Mexicans dancing on the stage as well.

Back at the house we had lunch and a
bit of R&R by the pool. We headed to the Plaza Grande around 7PM
to find something to eat and see what was going on. We got soups at
one of the popup restaurants that set up on the square. We then
watched a band play for a while and called it a night.
