Quy Nhon tour

Back to the lady with the recording on the street early this morning.

We are about a block from the local market, headed there to find breakfast but we are a little gun shy after Andres bout with food poisoning.  Found our coffee, I don't even drink coffee at home , but this ice coffee thing is pretty yummy. Couldn't decide where would be best to eat, then sadly we remembered we had something like Mr noodles in a cup in our room, so that will do for todays breakfast.  Let the water boil for a really long time, lol, noodles were actually pretty tasty, no idea what the little balls were floating on top, I'm not going to use google translate to find out.

Yesterday we could not figure out how to open the drain to our sink. I took a picture of the sink and went downstairs to front desk to show them. He said housekeeping will come. Two women arrived from housekeeping, one carrying a knife , the other pliers,  guess we weren't the first to call. Well shame on us, it was just a little flip stopper. We now remember we have seen this once before, and we are pretty sure we needed to call for help last time too.

Off for our tour which we had booked the night before with:

We were to meet at the sports bar. Our driver is a brother of our driver from yesterday, except with even less English. It is a day of Google translate. The other couple on the tour were from Australia,  we had a really great day with them.

Started the tour today with a stop at the twin Cham Towers in Quy Nhon built between the 11th and 15th century.

Next stop was at Eo Gio with a pretty rocky cove to explore and also a visit to the lady Buddha here.

Our next stop was the big Buddha which we could see as we were driving.  Ong Nui temple, the biggest seated Buddha in Southeast Asia. 600 steps to climb, we took easy riders up. Way too hot to climb up 600 steps, $3.00 each for easy rider, best $3.00 maybe ever spent. This is also the first time someone has asked for me to be in a picture with them, of course Andre took advantage of the picture taking as well. I may now qualify as an easy rider expert, 3 times this trip! I am pretty sure my driver was a woman again, she pointed to me when we got out of the van, she probably wanted nothing to do with those men with us. Little did she know I was about to hold on very tight to her.

Our final stop is at a new beach development Vinh Hoi that has only been open for 2 months. We were the only 4 people visiting today. This development was built as a non profit for the local community.  A beautiful beach, only about 4 of the kiosks were open while we were there,  yesterday was Sunday and they had 300 visitors.  We had a very nice lunch, and a great swim following lunch to cool off. The shade is a little walk from the water and the sand was hot! Wore sneakers to the shore line, coming out Andre made a run for it, I had a towel that I would run for a bit, throw the towel to stand on and recover, repeat until back to shade. Next time will pack sandals as well.

Andre asked our driver if he could stop at a large computer store on our way back to town. Another thing checked off the list, Andre has a new external hard drive.  They only took cash, so a smaller slim external hard drive was all he had the cash for, but perfectly fine for travelling.

Back to the hotel for a rest, stopped at the mango lady, she remembered us from yesterday, mango? Once again delicious.

Rest over, there is an uphill climb to do. Beautiful views of the city and beach from the lookout up on the hill at the end of the beach.

There is something behind the little alley behind our hotel, back to explore, still not sure, maybe a monks residence? On our way out some kids playing badminton have their birdie stuck on a rooftop. Lots of excitement when they see Andre at 6'2". They have a little stool out that he is able to stand on and reach the birdie with a fishing pole thing the have rigged up. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened, fun for everyone to have this problem solved.

It is still incredibly hot, needed a stop at the room for showers before we head out to supper. Supper at the sports bar again, lunch was so big a Ceasar salad and fries shared were all that was needed to go with a couple of drinks.

Walk along the beach, pick up some water for tomorrow and time to get packed up as we are on the move again.
