No bikes today. We did not really want to bike back how we came here anyway, and were told the highway would be too dangerous to bike. Shevon arranges our bikes and luggage to be shipped and we will grab the local bus later on to visit a town near by.
First visit is to the cemetery in town which is always
interesting. Many headstones show the
street that they lived on, but no birth year, first time we have seen
this. Nearly all were family plots, some
had real grass, some had fake grass, some were all stones.
The breakfast room was full of old knick knack's. This was our milk jug for breakfast |

Back country road where we finish biking yesterday except for the short portion into town |
The mansion owner created this very wide street by tearing down building after he visited Paris. The trees are more recent |
We caught the 12:30 local bus to Roscommon for a visit. This bus is really for locals to go from one town to another. We get on the bus and we hear, the Canadians! It is one of the girls having coffee that pointed us in the right direction the first day when we arrived in town. She is very excited, got tickets to Garth Brooks tonight and heading home to get a dress then back to Strokestown to finish her working day. We enjoyed hearing her conversation with the guy behind her, definitely some history there. 4Euro return bus ride, what a deal.
Roscommon is much bigger than Strokestown. We did a self guided tour to see all the different buildings around town. The Abby and Castle from the 1200’s were most impressive to see.

Used to be a jail, now a shopping mall |
Caught the afternoon bus back and stopped at a pub that Shivon had recommended. A gas fill up out front, a tiny general store, a bar sign on the back wall that you open into a little pub. All family run. Had a nice chat with the man beside me, but wow he was hard to understand.
Dinner tonight at Chinese buffet, there are only 2 restaurants to choose from in this town that are open.
Back to the pub for one last drink then we go see the fair that is in town. There are 5 amusement rides at the fair, kids are so excited! We see our bartender from the last pub arrive to be with his family.
