Roundwood to Enniskerry

Our last day of walking.  Today we are on a walk that we see many more people, it is a short distance from Dublin and a popular walk.  We come across many lookouts and so much heather again, it is beautiful.  It is also the first day that we see true trekkers, they are taking down their tent in the middle of nowhere, they have spectacular views from their tent!

The end of the trail today is in a parking lot.  We had called the taxi when we reached the waterfall and told them we were close, taxi was waiting when we reached the bottom.  A father and son that we had met along the way were also waiting for us to share the taxi to our B&B, we were so surprised to see them as we thought they were ahead of us, we have no idea where we passed them.

This B&B is really like a small hotel.  Lots of confusion with a few of us arriving at the same time.  This was the B&B we liked the least, but we are only here one night.  There is nothing at all near this B&B.  A taxi/van takes everyone into town for dinner, tells us we have 2 hours then picks us up again. It was the same man driving this taxi that picked us up at the end of our walk today, he has a goldmine doing this!

There are a few restaurants to pick from in this small town.  Decision made and they are setting up for a surprise 60th birthday party as we are finishing dinner.  Lots of laughs and fun, Andre got in line to shake his hand and say happy birthday, quite the look on birthday boys face!

The 2 Canadian sisters were also in the same restaurant, couldn’t figure out what they were doing.  Turned out they had bought a bottle of wine for later, it was in her bag that fell of the table and broke.  What a mess all her stuff was!

Back at the hotel and we met a young couple that are about to start walking.  We give them our poles that we bought on the first day, we no longer need them, and they will do some hiking so we know they will appreciate them.  Only thing we told them is they have to pass them along at the end of their trip.

B&B's typically gave us a choice of big breakfast or small breakfast, Andres typical choice

School trip.  Ran into their teacher walking with the slow ones, she was not impressed kids had taken off their shirts

This is how 'carpets' were attached to boardwalks

Andre did this little summit, I chose the walk through the heather and we met up again at the bottom

Our final big climb
