Day 12 Last Day in Town

Third post of the day.

Wendy had a few conference call today, so I did a few short walks near the apartment.  We also did a couple of longer walk together, one of them to the bus station to buy the ticket for tomorrow. It was 8 Euro each to return to the airport.

3 doors down at the end of our street, there an old mosque but it was not open to visit.

Taxi drivers are not very busy, they have time to clean the windows.

My favorite Gelato place has not reopened.

Little alley to the waterfront by our apartment

Many choices of Oranges, from 40 cents a pound and up

2nd floor extension

Someone's backyard.

Worry beads.  One guys selling them said they were good if you want to stop smoking.  Keeps you occupied.

Escape Room. I guess if you escape from the second floor, you did it wrong?

Sign in Greek, so I have no idea what is special about it besides being old.

Small grocery store near our place. Prices are in Euro per Kilo

Most places have solar hot water heaters.  If it cloudy and cold for a few days, there is a breaker that you can turn on for 30 minutes before taking your shower.

Parcel delivery. He stopped at the pharmacy with a couple of plastic bags.

Largest church in town.

School wall art.

Small church near the bus station

Outdoor swimming pool.

House or church on the castle hill

Only type of Cactus we saw

Take out delivery for the restaurants

The US has a military base on the island and we have seen these guys a few times.

I used Google Translate and it said the street was closed for repairs

Scooter rental service

Statue in the square near our apartment

The wooden boardwalk near the harbor which we walked on almost every day.

Feeling sad about leaving but seeing these empty streets makes it easier as it is not the same as the first week we were here.

Store with traditional music instruments.

No lights on.

Some days the grocery store closes in the afternoon and reopens for the evening. Other days the open 9 to 5.

minaret of a large mosque

Frozen Greek Yogurt that we visited twice. It was very good, not as sweet as the frozen yogurts we have at home.
