Visit to local homestead & Moraira

This morning, we decided to jog to the 2 coves which are little bit further that our normal jog along the beach that I biked to earlier in the week but Wendy hadn`t yet seen.  We left about 30 minutes earlier so we would have plenty of time to admire the scenery.   Wendy was very impressed by how beautiful this area is and how quiet.  Only one man throwing a stick in the water for his dog to swim out and get.  On our return from the second cove, they were returning to the car.  It was obvious that the dog had arthritis and this might have been his daily exercise.

Jog/walk this morning views

We hardly see any seagulls, or any seabirds here

One in a hole, not a hole in one!

White stone

They clean a section of the arenal every day

Wendy thinks this will be my future job...

Around 9:30, the doorbell rang. It was Margaret, the lady from unit 5.  We had planned to go visit her sons place with her, which had all kinds of citrus trees, after Wendy was done work.  She told us she had company coming in from Madrid and would it be ok if we went earlier. No problem, so Wendy took an early lunch break.  We drove there which took only a few minutes thru the oranges groves that are behind the 3 streets that front the water in town.  Her son had bought the place about 15 years ago.  A very Spanish looking house.  It had a very long veranda, which they enclosed about half by putting large windows in the arches and a door at one end.  They had lovely gardens around the house.  They also had many types of fruit bearing trees, avocados (could not reach them to pick), mandarins, grapefruits,  and lots of Oranges ones, as well as olive and almonds.  Margaret took us for a lovely tour and we picked some oranges and grapefruits.  They also had a loquat trees and we ate some on the spot.  Can`t get any fresher than that.  What a lovely place they had.  Very quiet and peaceful.  You could certainly relax and unwind back here.  No traffic noise.

Beautiful Spanish home that we visited, notice the reflections

Gorgeous view of Mt. Mongo from pool area, you also see the city in the distance

Avacado tree, fruit out of reach, these trees were huge

Amazing gardens on the property, Mom would love this!

Our best friend Margaret showing us around (OK she's our only friend here..)

The orange trees were so full, and some starting to fall on the ground

Loquat tree, we bought loquat honey which is excellent

Fred, are you having firepit envy???

After Wendy was done work, we drove to Moraira which is about 20 minutes south.  It is another small town.  They have 2 beaches which are separated by a good size hill and marina  and you can`t walk from one to the next along the shore.  It was a beautiful evening with no wind at all.  Must have been around the mid 20s.  The town has a very small fort but it was not open.  We walked along the first beach to its end and back.  The sand here is very much like the one at home.  Moraira has a nice marina and we poked around a bit. We walked up to the second beach along a nice seashore promenade.  Lots of nice views of the beaches, the marina and the sea from here.  We did not go as far as the second beach but could see it from the lookouts.  That would have meant some more climbing back once we got to it. The water was so clear and pretty colours, Wendy was ready to jump in.  This town is also very nice with a bunch of restaurants, not as many as where we are staying.  I think we would have been happy staying here as well as it looks like the type of towns we prefer, no mega high-rise.

Water was so clear, wish we just had a net to scoop some up for supper

Colors were very pretty tonight

Second beach in Moraira

When we got home, the sun was setting.  We went to the rooftop and admire the sunset.  After supper, we went for a walk to the beach area to see how busy it was.  A few people walking on the promenade.  It is funny to see one restaurant almost full while the one next door only has 1 table.  We know which one we want to eat at now by the looks of it.  Unfortunately we will not get to them all as we have less than 1 week here left.
