After breakfast, we did a quick walk to check out the pier to see how windy it was.

We are going to visit and spend some time on West Bay
today. We walk out to the end of our
road and just wait for a taxi, one comes by about every 2 minutes. Our trick now is to just say $8.00 to west
Bay, if they say OK we get in, if not we say goodbye to them as we know another
taxi is just around the corner. Today
the first taxi that stopped already had a woman in it. We are 4 of us, no way could we fit another
person with us. She decides to get out
and give the taxi to us and get another one to give this driver more money,
this is after she tells us that Liam could share the front with her in her
bucket seat, or we could squeeze 4 in the back, no thanks.

An expat donated a sailboat to use as a swing. We tried to find how to get there but were not successful.
We are looking for somewhere for lunch and find a little
church BBQ’ing outside. Turns out it is
a fundraiser for someone from the congregation that is sick. BBQ Pork or chicken, perfect, this is where
we decide to eat. Find a picnic table in
the shade at the back of the church, all sit on one side and of course the thing
starts to flip. We lose some of our
drinks, but save the meals.
We lounge on the beach for the afternoon. Joey and Andre go snorkeling, poor visibility
again from shore but it is fun to people watch at a busier beach.
We find a 2x1 happy hour that has tables in the shade, too
much sun for everyone this trip. Joey
and Wendy had good mojitos, Andre and Liam didn’t think so much of their
strawberry margaritas.
Time to head back to Sandy Beach, we grab a taxi right
outside the bar, load all our crap into the trunk, all get in and taxi doesn’t go. They driver gets out fiddles with something under
the hood, gets in again, doesn’t go. At
this point Joey and I start to laugh, poor taxi driver. We all get out and Liam and Andre push the
taxi to the end of the very busy street.
The driver stops when the police come by to see what is happening. The drinks earlier have Joey and I laughing
like crazy again, we did feel bad for the taxi driver, but Andre and Liam
pushing a taxi down a street in Roatan just was too much for us.
Another taxi and we are back to the Casita. Supper tonight is some leftovers from the
restaurant yesterday that served us huge portions. We made some homemade salsa, some nacho chips
and we are good for another day.
Tonights game is Skip Boo, Joey missed the first game
napping on our couch, but we woke her up to join in the fun after that. Another early night, we know the roosters
will have us up early again tomorrow.
