In town for day

Relaxing day. Wrote the trip report for yesterday. Also did some research for plans for this weekend. We may do an organized tour on Sunday.

At lunchtime we walk to the municipal market. Wendy had not seen it. The weather today was overcast and a bit chillier. I figured it would be warmer than walking by the ocean. It is about a 15 minutes walk from our place. When we got to the market they were closing the stalls. All the fish vendors were gone already and there was only a few vegetables stalls left. We did not buy anything. On the way back we walked down to old town and came up without talking the escalators. The legs were burning when we got to the top. I made a nice salads and we had the yummy leftover pasta from last night.

We got our first rainfall since we have been here. Not much it rained for about 3-4 minutes and just enough to wet the tiles on the terraces below us.

The internet has not been super steady here, so I decided to go talk to them about it. It took about ½ hour to get served. One of the ladies being served was angry and when her number got called up, she went up and down on the poor clerk. Wish I knew Portuguese as I am sure there was some choice words said. I have to give credit to the clerk as she did not lose her calm, as least I do not think she did as I did not understand anything that was said. Well when my turn came up. I did not have the right information about our internet account. Will need to contact the apartment owners and get it and return again.
Explore the other side of the street from the supermarket but not much except for a Chinese grocery store. Went to check on the tour we might do on Sunday. 23 euros for a day tour to 3 towns near Lisbon. Same schedule as my Seville tour, leave at 7 return at 7:30 but this one is closer, so less driving and more sightseeing time. Also picked up a power adapter for 1.50 euros. We only had one and with 2 computers and battery charger, it was much needed. Pick edup a few things for supper and back to the house for a glass of vino before I make supper. Picked up some leeks at a market 2 days ago and I am going to attempts Potato & Leek soup.

Wendy worked a little later today as she had a meeting scheduled. After work we decided to go for a walk along the strip which is where many of the bars and restaurants are. It took us about 30 minutes to walk there, then we walked the entire strip, then walked back home. 2 hours later we arrived home, quite tired as we had climbed quite a few hills, up and down, and up and down.

We did stop at a liquor store that had free samples of port. Sampled a couple of different ones, and picked a 10 year old that cost 14.00 Euro.

Made the potato and leek soup for supper, it turned out good. Now need to figure out what we are doing for the week-end.
