Sept 24
Head off at 10AM back to Amman for 2 nights. Amman is the white city of the country. There are 3 districts in Amman, one of the districts everything must be built with white limestone, it really is a boring city to look at.
Arrive at our hotel, but it is not the same hotel we had when we were in Amman last week. Some people have left things at our first hotel, so arrangements are done to get those things brought to this new hotel. We kind of had the old hotel area figured out, now a new area to explore.
Back from a trip to the mall about a 1 KM walk away. It is a huge mall, not really for tourists but fun to explore around. Found a great discount store, maybe like a Winners at home, but even less expensive. Wish I had more room in my luggage and more patience to shop, did get one new t-shirt for 1.50JD, double that for Canadian. Also stocked up on water, something we need to do pretty much every day. The 2 small bottles they give us in our rooms is not nearly enough for us.
Tomorrow we have a tour day again, our last day of tours in Jordan then we start the long journey home.
We stayed at the Oryx Hotel which is named after the animal in the picture. |
Pictures of our drive from Aqaba to Amman
This was being built right outside our hotel, a good landmark for us, hard to get too lost |
The mall we walked to |
Picked up a late lunch/snack from a syrain man who told us his wife made everything |
