Jerash

Today we started with a visit to Ajloun Castle, built by Saladin in the 12th-century to safeguard the trade route between Damascus and Southern Jordan. One of the most impressive Muslim castles in the Middle East, here you can soak up fabulous views

Next we move on to Jerash which has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, this incredible Greco Roman city is home to the best-preserved Roman-era ruins in Jordan, and the second most visited spot in Jordan after Petra. It is really hot here, probably the hottest we have had while walking around.  Not many areas for shade, but still had a great visit.

On the way back to Amman we did a brief city tour of Amman. Saw both the new and old parts of the city on our bus ride back to the hotel

Entrance to our hotel.  The entrances always had security to get in, and scanners like they have at airports.  We only had to use the scanners once to get into a hotel

Passed on the $40 lunch buffet per person, though it looked delicious, and split a sandwich
