Day 5 Day 3 of Camino Walking

So much busier on the trails today.  Daniella is really struggling with her feet now.  Her toenails have turned black, sure she will lose them at some point.  We walk with some younger girls from Scotland for a while today.  A lawyer and a nurse who graduated together and met up here to do the Camino together.

Loved this tree at the start of our walk today, Daniella beside it so you can see how big it really is

Quite a bit of fog to start the day, nice and cool

I never did find out what the fruit was in these trees

This part of the trail was wheelchair accessible, even for a dog!

So many spider webs along the fence here, it was hard to get a picture

We are walking through lots of farmland

Galacian cabbage, we have this a lot in our soup
Met up with a farmer moving his cows to pasture.  This was lots of fun to follow.  It made quite a traffic jam of pilgrims following behind them on the narrow path.  We followed them for about 1km.  He had 3 working dogs with him that were amazing to watch.

Camino traffic jam

After lunch Daniella has chosen to do the short walk, I walk with one of the Australian sisters for a bit.  She has been staying at the back of the pack with the slower walkers, but she is definitely the same pace as me.  The slower walkers like to stop for a coffee along the way,  I like to just keep walking so I spend a lot of time walking alone which I love.  The really fast walkers often pass me again, which is always fun to see someone you know, they often stop for coffee as well.
Surgery being performed on Daniellas boots, toes are being cut off to relieve the pressure on her toes that are in really bad shape now

Nice little church right outside town after lunch, too bad it wasn't open

Finally hit under 100 km to go!

We are mixed in with a large group of about 80 Grade 8 kids doing the pilgrimage being led by a very young priest.  The kids are all spread out, it is really fun talking to them.  They are from Spain and are excited to practice their English with us.  When they found out I was Canadian they were very excited to talk about the Raptors.
Part of the large group of students out walking today

Town across the bridge where we will stop for the night

Not too impressed that this is what meets us at the end of the bridge, more stairs...

From the bar where we met up we watched this little robot lawnmower, the lawn was not much bigger than this picture, it would have taken less than 5 minutes to do by hand
End of the walk to day and we are driven to a beautiful old farm that has been converted to an inn.  They have added a few more rooms on.  A great supper here, we are far outside of any towns and away from the Camino, it is absolutely quiet and peaceful, I could stay here for a few days.

Part of the Inn where we stayed, Bill our driver is giving us a tour around
