Santiago Market

This morning we headed out to find Municipal Market #2 which is near Santiago Park. I had seen on the internet that it had been renovated. The walk there was fun as it was a new route and more residential. Looks of building, doors and windows to take pictures of.

Nap time at 9 in the morning

We shall return

Notary Office

Starting a collections of bug pictures, will create an album later

Lots of windows to take pictures of
Awning is a tad faded

We found the market and it is nice and clean. Too clean for Jacinthe, so we did not spend much time there taking pictures. Its is also very small compared to the other one we have been going to. The food kiosks are very clean and may return to get something to eat as the food looked very good.

Nothing goes to waste, my favorite shot of the week

keeping flies away

Love the scale and cash box combination

Not sure if it was an accident that this looks like a cow or not.

too clean for Jacinthe

Does not get any fresher than this

We visited the church that is next to the market and the park. Like most churches the façade of the church is a fake façade and the church main sections are not built that high.

Since we were not too far from the main market we headed that way. At the same time we picked up a few groceries as the prices are so low in there. With 4 of us we need to buy mangos and avocados almost every day.

From the second floor at the market, only a few restaurants there and a couple of shops. Crazy zooie streets.

Children in school wear uniforms

I will need to blog about the food prices, vegetables are cheap

We went to for an ice cream break around 2PM with Wendy coming along to a place we had seen a sign this morning. Only 4 or so blocks away from us near Santa Lucia Park.

Sister, I love your Disney Princess Bag.

At Pola for Ice Cream

For supper we went to Chaya Maya which is on the street next to where we are staying. We had a great meal. The food was excellent and environment was great. We eat in the courtyard of what must have been a mansion at one point. The restaurant also had several rooms around the courtyard that were air conditioned if someone preferred.

On the way out we were asked by 13 vendors from the state of Chiapas if we wanted to buy something. They were all 5 foot to 5 foot 4 in height. Wendy feels tall around them and the local Mexicans

A quick stop at Santa Lucia Park on the way home from the restaurant.
