Our last full day in Avignon. Last croissants at our little bakery around the corner, this may be a good thing. Not sure if I have ever eaten more bread, croissants, or pain au chocolate. Plus we still have 3 weeks in France to go....
This morning we walked over to Barthelasse again in hopes that the mini golf would be open. On our way over we could see lots and lots of pink tee shirts. Turns out it is a walk for cancer today with 2,200 participants. It was amazing to see.
Happy to find the mini golf open, not so happy with the outcome of scores. It was a nice little course, we think it was probably the first weekend it was open. A couple of families and 4 guys on the course along with us. It is another beautiful day, but lots of things blowing in the air again, and it really smells like smoke as well, maybe they are burning olive branches?
Walked back home and made a lunch with things found in the fridge then back out through old town and the little streets for one last time. We saw a couple with maps doing one of the routes we had done early this morning and ran into them with their map this afternoon by Rue des Teinturiers this afternoon. They looked like they were having lots of fun. It was a lot of fun when we did it.
Home again for a rest, supper is a piece of spanakopita we picked up at a little Greek place this afternoon and clean up the rest of the fridge. Not much left now. It is going to be harder doing groceries when we are only at the next 3 places for 1 week.
After supper a walk to see some of the sites at night again. Part way back over the bridge to the island, then up to the popes palace and l'horloge square. I really hope we don't have a l'horloge square in any other cities we are visiting, it is a real struggle for me to stay it.
Check out time tomorrow at 10AM, bus at 11:40 to Lyon. Looking forward to exploring a new city.

Just outside our apartment. Could be Roman ruins or part of the old ramparts.
