Rainy day in Nerja

We wake up to light rain this morning. So we converted our jog into a brisk walk.  We head thru town as we feel this might be the best option today in case the skies really open up.  We put on raincoats and take umbrellas.  We walk all the way down to Playa Burriana but do not walk the beach instead we turn right and do a loop around where the fishermen have their boats warehouse.  We head back doing the killer hill which looks like yesterday’s hike but a lot shorter.   We are the only ones on the Balcon this morning and by the time we get back to the Balcon for the second time the rain has picked up.  We quickly make our way home.   Good thing we started when we did because we would not have started if we had waited 45 minutes.  Sorry Joey no sunrise pictures this morning, just a cloudy morning picture.

The morning went by quickly, Breakfast on the patio, working on the blog and checking things on the internet and making plans for next weekend trip.  Hard to believe but we are down to 10 more nights here in Nerja before continuing on with our trip.

The rain stopped just before lunchtime and we were able to have our rabbit food on the balcony.  It is a good thing that I have some pate and ham.  After lunch we walk to town to look for some Halls for Wendy’s sore throat.  Task accomplished at the little grocery store closest to the main square.  We headed up the street next to this place and walked up to SuperSol to get groceries.  Since Wendy still had time before returning to work we walked a little bit along the river where I did the hike yesterday.  I returned to the SuperSol and Wendy headed home.  Since the sky had cleared up and the mountains were out I ventured out to see if I could find a spot to take pictures of the mountains.  I looped around by the bridge by the SuperSol to the other bridge that is further up and would lead to the bus station if you stayed on that road.  If you turn right at the end of the bridge there is a nice public area with orange trees.  It was a nice walk and had the opportunity to take photos of multiple subjects.

Afterwards, I ended up at the Mercadona to pick up groceries.  It was quiet at the grocery store, I guess because of the chance of rain.  At home I downloaded software to create a picture book from our trip to Tanzania and worked on it most of the afternoon.  Good thing, it looks like the seagulls have gone away but instead we have the gardener power washing the pool.  Not sure which is worst?

The plans for this evening were to go out for supper and then see the movie.  Wendy had a demo at 4PM which lasted longer than expected and she only finished around 5:45 and the movie starts at 7.    We decided to just go to  Vicente for a glass of wine and tapas prior to the movie.  Spicy pork and small fired sardines were our tapas tonight.  Then walk around a little bit before the movie.  The movie was Le Grande Bellezza.  I think it had won best Oscar for foreign film last year.  Must not have been much to choose from.  To some of you, this will not be a surprise but Wendy fell asleep early in the movie.  In her defence, she is nursing a cold.  I liked the movie better than Wendy did.  There were some funny moments but also some strange scenes.  I believe there was a message in the movie, probably too many which may have been the problem.  It was definitely a let me think about that.  It was not your typical Hollywood type of movies.
Enjoying her wine before nap time

We were going to go out for supper after the movie but Wendy wasn`t feeling up to it so we decided to have the leftover curry chicken, don’t know why but it also seem to taste even better once something like this gets reheated.
Back home we played crib with Wendy coming ahead 2 to 1 tonight.
