Fundy National Park Revisited Day 1

We are off to Fundy National Park for the weekend again to do some hiking.  Our zone has gone back to covid.19 yellow from covid.19 orange.  One yurt was open because of this, so we took advantage of it and took Friday off since you need to reserve a minimum 2 nights.

On the drive to Fundy, still a bit of yellow in the trees

Love this old house

We decided to attach a long hike today, it is 12 KM one way and expected to take about 6 hours total from start to finish. The paths were very good as they are designed for biking as well. A few ups and down with only 2 major ones.

Small brook fall on the first part of the hike.  The trail share the same path as copper mine.

Dead birch tree with lots of mushroom on it

One of the few view on the path.

Wendy favourite sign.

A  few mushroom along the way.

We finally reach the far end of the trail where people can do remote camping.  You need to carry everything.  We met one couple who was going back to the parking lot. His backpack must have weighed almost 50 pounds, not for me.

wall that people made to stop the wind coming in from the beach for their tent.

Some of the campsite are in the woods

A peek at a waterfall along the way back

We took a 10 minute break at this point on the way back.  Much needed as we were very tired.

We completed the hike in just a bit over 6 hours.

For supper, we cooked cheese quesadillas on the wood stove in the common area.
