Friday – 32,000 steps
Today is clean up day, figure out what
we have not yet seen that we want to see. We decide to split up with
Marc and Mary Sue today and meet back at the apartment later for
supper if all goes as planned.
|
Stairs to our apartment, glad we were on the first floor, no elevator |
Andre wanted to see some markets, 2
we found were good, one we had already been to on our first day here,
and one we found the street but there was no market there. The
street with no market did have a guy doing graffiti on a wall that
let Andre take his picture, so it was not all lost.
|
Locals lined up in this market for the fish monger |
We visited a
couple of churches we had not been to yet.
|
Where Henry IV was assassinated, his carriage got stuck in traffic jam |
|
Room rates posted outside a hotel we passed |
|
Lego store |
Next we went to visit the Stock Market,
which was a total waste of time, it was all under construction, we
couldn’t get in at all, walked around the entire building.

St Eustache Church |

We had a nice lunch at a
bakery on Montorgueil, we loved this area that we hadn’t been to
yet, and hope to take Marc and Mary-Sue here for supper tonight.
Sat on
the Opera House steps for a while and listened to a guy singing and
playing guitar. Picked up a lego architecture of Arch du Triumph for
Riley, but then was stuck carrying it around for the rest of the day.
|
Opera House in daylight, we had only seen it at night before |
|
no new watch this year for Andre |
|
La Madeleine Church |
|
Much busier subway going back to apartment |
Back to the apartment for a glass of
wine, we just missed Marc and Mary-Sue, but they left a note saying
they would be back around 6:30PM for supper if we would wait for
them.
Back to Montorgueil for supper, I had
the best beef bourguignon ever, I must try to make this when I get
home, it has been years since I had it. Andre had flank steak, he
should have had the same as me.
|
Montorgueil at night, much busier than during the day |
|
Making ice cream |
Walking home we really got off track,
added even more steps to an already full day, but eventually found
our way home. It was an early scheduled day tomorrow, so not too
happy about getting home so late.
