Palm Springs - The Tramway

Up this morning for a walk around the back of our place.

Some lovely homes back here, with great views of the mountains. It is hot early here, best to have your walk done by 8 or so.

A quick breakfast then off to Gilles and Johns to figure out plans for the day.

Turns out they were on the way to pick us up and we are off to take the tram. They have never done this, Gilles does not like heights, but he did it! The tram is unique, as you go up the mountain the floor rotates so you all have great views.

Absolutely beautiful views from the top. We had read it would be cold up top, when we got there it was 50 degrees, but it did climb slowly and was around 60 when we left. We did a walk that took us to 5 beautiful lookout points, Gilles lack of love of heights came out again whenever John got within 15 feet of the edge!

After the descent from the mountain it was time for some lunch.

We went to a great salad spot downtown, again with a great patio, we are going to miss eating outside again when we get home.

A new girlfriend for Andre

A little more of a driving tour around town and then back to the condo for a swim.

Every day we have made it to the pool, but it keeps getting later and later, and the sun goes down behind the mountains so quickly! The last couple of days Andre and John have picked grapefruit from a tree in the condo complex and made grapefruit gin and tonics beside the pool, yummy.

I would just love to be able to pick a grapefruit, orange, lemon or lime as I entered my home

Supper was quick baked lasagna at the condo then we take the Buzz bus into town to see the market. Every Thursday to Sunday this bus runs from right outside our condo and does a loop around downtown and comes back. This is a free bus to try to get people into town. What a service! You can go have a few drinks and then get home safely without worrying about taxis or DD's

A nice market with a mix of everything. We love walking around local markets, this one has a mix of things for locals and visitors. Wendy has been fighting a cold pretty much the entire week we have been here, so it is an early night tonight, catch the Buzz home and off to bed.
