Palm Springs Day 2

Started off today with a great pancake breakfast at Gilles & Johns.

Gorgeous pool at Gilles and Johns

Pretty gardens and palm trees all over their condo property

After breakfast we headed downtown for the Pride parade. We have never been to a Pride parade, this is a great place to go to your first Pride parade. We needed to move a little down the parade route to find a spot that I could see from the shade, it was hot out there, but again no humidity so not too bad.

The first participants were holding pictures of those lost in the Orlando shootings “We are Orlando”, very emotional and moving. The parade lasted about 1.5 hours. I couldn’t believe how many of the participants were wearing heels. I couldn’t walk a block in those heels, never mind an entire parade route! Between the heels and the very heavy makeup on some of them it would have been a miserable day in the heat for me.

"We are Orlando" tribute

It's hot out there, keep your water handy!

Now this is going to be a long walk....

Ouch, my feet hurt just looking at this

Not sure if the feet, dress, or makeup would be the most uncomfortable in a parade

This person was great, going around and around on the bike.  Lima, I don't think you would have fallen off your bike if you had been wearing proper shoes like this

We followed the parade route a little further into town at the end but it was packed with people and really getting hot so we decided to call it quits for the day and headed back to the condo.

Biggest flag we have ever seen

Lots of spectators, a fun day!

Gilles and John, John - love the beads on your arm lol

Quick lunch, then off to the pool where we spent most of the afternoon floating around on noodles. I also managed to sneak in a little nap, surprise surprise.

Wendy - the sunlover

Sun sets early this time of year, but it is still warm!

A couple of drinks and we head into town again tonight for a great Thai supper. We ordered 4 different meals and shared. Excellent food. We know these guys frequent this restaurant as they were greeted like friends when we arrived.

Great Thai food

Lots of cool shops, restaurants and bars in town.

Nightcap at a club that had cool swing chairs just down the street, then off to pick up groceries for tomorrow and home by around 9:30 for bed. We are slowly getting used to the time change, by Saturday when we leave, we should be good!
