Up early again this morning, haven't been to the market yet in Hue, so we are off. I am just about done with markets, Andre not so much, he loves the photo ops.
Stop for a coffee at Tim Hortons copy cat place, then can't find anywhere for breakfast. Huge grocery store near by so we go in there, buy a couple of bun breakfast looking things, some drinkable yogurt and some bananas. We only wanted 4 bananas so I took the huge bunch over to a woman with a knife, and surprise it is a weighing station, you need to get a sticker price put on here, not at the cash.
Worst breakfast of the trip. Andre needs to learn what coconut is in Vietnamese, both bun things were full of coconut. The bananas may be ripe in 2 weeks, Eva's birds now have a couple of bananas to eat. The yogurt was drinkable at least. When we headed out this morning to market I was envisioning those bread treats like we had from the Dalat market, haven't seen them again since.
Back to Eva's, time for a quick shower, some hugs and photo taking. Eva has 2 sweet little girls, they know baby shark and Old Macdonald had a farm, they seemed a little surprised we could sing along. Eva's brother has another job today taking people caving, said goodbye to him earlier.
Off to the airport, Hue to Saigon to Siem Reap. We need to leave Vietnam as our Visas run out tomorrow. One week in Cambodia then back to Vietnam to finish exploring the North.
Made our flight connections no problem. About 1.5 hours to change terminals in Saigon and get to our gate. Did not need to pick up our carry on luggage that we decided to check these when they told us in Hue it would go right through to Cambodia. We are sick of looking at those suitcases now anyway.
Arrived pretty much on time, purchased Visa on arrival at airport in Cambodia, Vietnam could sure learn something with this process, I don't think it even took 10 minutes.
Our hotel includes one airport transfer, so nice to have someone standing with your name on a sign when you come out of arrivals.
Our hotel, well we have gone from one extreme to another. Eva's homestay was perfectly fine, made even better by such a wonderful host. Here we have been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite that is bigger than our house! 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, washing machine. Plus what looks like a nice swimming pool that I am sure will be put to some use this week.
Too tired to go exploring tonight, so decide to eat in the dining room here. Excited to see that cocktails are cheaper here than Vietnam, maybe I won't be given such a hard time about not drinking beer.
After supper Andre hits up the corner store for some beer, .75usd a can, but they only have German beer cold, so German beer is now in the fridge in our kitchen.
Done for the night, 5am pickup for sunrise tour scheduled for tomorrow morning.
