Last day in Albufeira :-(

Today is my last day of work here in Portugal, tomorrow is Good Friday, and we have decided to leave our apartment here in Albufeira tomorrow instead of Saturday and start our trip to Northern Portugal.

A busy day today for work, always is when you get ready for vacation. Really though I am only missing 4 days of work since most of Europe seems to have Monday off as well for a holiday.

Andre spent most of his day doing errands. This morning he went up to the market for a 8 euro haircut. He said it was really busy, not a word of English spoken by the barber, but sign language worked fine. After his haircut he came home and we went for my last lunch walk. Again it is not the nicest of days out, so not too hard to say good-bye to Albufeira. More and more tourists around, we say good-bye to a couple of waiters we have spoken to over the last few weeks.

They are now setting up beach chairs for rent

One way to reserve a parking spot

The fish counter at the grocery store is now twice as big as when we first got here.

Back to the apartment and Andre heads out for our last of groceries. We have a 7 Euro credit on our shopping card that needs to be used. It starts to rain pretty hard while he is out, I debated taking the car to get him, but I'm afraid he will have tucked into a bar along the way to wait out the rain, oh well he will not melt. Most of the rain fell when he was doing groceries. Good timing.

Start to pack a little, we hope to get an early start tomorrow. Andre found an apartment that is available in Porto for 4 nights, so we have booked that starting on Saturday, we will use that as a home spot for our trips in that area. From there we will head down to Lisbon for 4 nights and then back to Moncton a week from Sunday, wow the time has gone by quickly.

Went to Church tonight as there was a 6PM service, lots of extra services with it being Easter week. The singing was amazing, the choir seemed to be in a loft above the congregation, we could not see them but they sounded amazing. We didn't last the whole service, too hard to follow when there is no English. We did not know the story tonight, we thought maybe we heard the Lords Prayer, but not even sure about that. From here we went to a sale that Andre had seen advertised in a building that is like a community hall. It cost 1.50 each to get it, and was basically a waste of money for us, but Andre says it was good to see. Not sure what he saw!!! I did get a little dress/beach cover up, but not much else worth buying.

Flowers we saw along our walk

Looked like a good idea, but no big deal to be had.  Frency's is better

Just finishing up supper now. We had mussels that Andre picked up today, very yummy, then spaghetti with lots of leftover stuff in it to clean out the cupboards.

Mussels for an appetizer

A little packing tonight, then off for another adventure tomorrow, not sure where we are staying tomorrow night, but I'm sure we will find somewhere nice....
