Valley of the Moon - Afternoon Tour

Only a short 15 kms drive from San Pedro for the Valley of the Moon tour

Again a totally different landscape that our first tours.

Some people choose to do this tour by bike, these people are crazy!

There are lots of different walks/hikes to choose from.  Again we had a great guide, she knew where she wanted to take us, but switched around order of walks depending on where the crowds were.

Road going up, can you imagine biking on this with all the vans going by!

Amphitheatre, they have held a symphony concert here.  The acoustics were amazing, you could call out and hear the echos back

First walk along the side of the road, we were the only tour here at this point

Les Tres Marias formation guard the entrance to the valley

start of our second hike.  It did not sound long/far, but walking in the sinking sand made it a lot tougher

The views were amazing.  Notice the guardrails lol

Look out number 1

so windy, time to carry caps

Wendy did not enjoy this part too much

Yes, this was the walking path, again Wendy did not overly enjoy

the Amphitheatre from above on the walk

the wind really picked up, not great for the cameras

heading back down to the van.  We both love circular routes, and Wendy especially was glad to go down this way and not the way we came up

Many many hiking trails

Stop for sunset views. Our van as well as many many others, a very popular spot

At this point we are exhausted and getting a little worried as we are booked on a night tour tonight to see the stars, and that should start in about 1 hour in town.  We knew that this tour got cancelled quite often because of clouds, we were wishing for clouds at this point at we have a 4AM pick up tomorrow morning for our tour.  We heard rumor's of the tour being cancelled tonight, then received confirmation it was cancelled.  We were not really sad, it has been another long day.  Back to town, have a quick supper and off to bed, very early alarm for tomorrow.
