First full day in Javea

Woke up today at 6AM to birds chirping outside our window.  So much nicer than cars going by!  It is going to be a beautiful sunny day.  Problem with being in Europe is I can’t do much work before 9 or 10 as I am now in the same time zone, or an hour later than England.  Work on a few reports that need to be done, start a load of much needed laundry, have breakfast and off to work.  Off to work is a matter of leaving the bedroom, walking 3 feet to the kitchen table and I am ready to go.  Andre played catch up with his sleep and only got at 10.
Lunch time and Andre and I walk the opposite way than last night, this time towards the marina.  Find another beach this way, and lots of cute little restaurants along the waterfront.  Now I have 2 different walks to do at lunch, but no hills like last year.  It was a nice warn afternoon for the walk, around 22 degrees and sunny. Back to the apartment for lunch and then work until a little after 6PM.

Decide a walk into Old Town is due.  This is away from the sea and into the mountains, up a pretty good hill.  We find an old road that takes us here that is lined with orange trees, many of them in blossom, and having fruit on them.  The smell is fabulous.  It takes a good .5 hour to get to Old Town, and nice walk.  We find an indoor market with lots of fresh things to choose from, I’m sure we will be visiting here again.  We loop around back to the apartment down another street that takes us back to where we were walking at lunch time.  This loop takes a good 1.5 hours, so we got our exercise in today.

Back at the apartment to get supper ready.  Open up a precut package of squash that smells like pumpkin,  look up the definition in google translate, yep pumpkin for supper instead of squash.  We also bought some kind of dried peppers to add to the leftover chicken from last night, very hot, and very good.  Opened our first bottle of red wine, 2.50 Euro (about $3.50 Canadian) very well spent.

First bottle of Spanish wine opened, 3.00 Euro well spent

Supper at 9PM, we are now Spanish I guess, Mom would be proud

Just got off Skype with Ron and Nancy, nice to see some familiar faces and get caught up.  Time for bed, 10:15 and I am done for the day.  This will get more exciting starting this week-end we hope, we will be on the road again in search of Easter festivals and parades.
