Malta here we come

Wish we could just say "Scottie beam up there" but I am still happy spending 26 hours from door to door and 3 flights going somewhere.

Left home at 1:30PM and got to Valletta on the Island of Malta at 8:30PM the next day.

After finding our Airbnb, we decided to go get something to eat. We are staying in old town Valletta, which is the capital of Malta. A few walking streets with many restaurants. Found a Spar grocery store and got premade local specialties to take back to our AIRBNB instead of going to a restaurant.  We tried Chicken Pastizzi, Peas Pastizzi, and Ricotta Qassatat, all were quite good.  Picked up enough things to get us going for breakfast and lunch tomorrow as well.

Looking forward to exploring more tomorrow when we are not quite as tired.  First impression is I think we are going to like it here, will get our workout as we have 40 stairs up to our apartment, and the city seems to be built on a hill, will see more tomorrow.

My one and only chance this year and I did not win anything

The busiest I have ever seen the Moncton airport, 2 Charter flights going south and 3 other flights leaving within 1 hour

Incoming flights waiting for outgoing flights to leave to get a spot

Followed the sunset to Montreal on the first flight

2nd flight to Rome, first view of Italy Coastline, missed the Alps as I had the window closed

Love hilltop towns/villages

Cemetery

Not sure if my limit is high enough to buy a purse, so many high end stores at the Rome airport

Went outside for a couple of hours as we had 7 hours to kill

Concrete and metal sculpture at the airport entrance

At the duty free

Italy, the land of the Fiat

Skipped but will not always skip

My delicious  ragu pasta

My first Gelato

A few more fun destinations to choose than the Moncton Airport

Lots of places to eat on arrival in Valletta

A couple of cute pedestrian streets. Saturday night and we still could have a seat pretty much anywhere we wanted

The triton fountain, last year in France none of the cities had the fountains going yet, nice to see this one, it is huge, I am sure there will be many more pics of this to follow.  Very close to our AIRBNB
