19,000
steps
Started
this morning with another free walking tour, this one to the 3
Cities, a 15 minute ferry ride across from Valletta. Lots of history
again. We went across by little boat for 3 Euro per person, returned
by big ferry for 2 Euro per person. 4 other Canadians on our tour, 1
from PEI and 1 from NS that both live in Ontario now, and 2 from
Winnipeg. Most Canadians we have seen so far. There were a couple
of other people that also have been on our other 2 tours with Ben, we
see so much more when we are with a guide, they take you directly to
the good spots, and tell you where to go back and look further on
your own when you have more time. Plus he had lots of suggestions
and a website for eating and what else to see.
A great lunch
right on the water, the sign for 1 Euro beer may have been the
attraction. It is much quieter over here than in Valletta, many
tourists choose to stay in one of the 3 cities because of that.
Andre had an English Breakfast, not sure that the 3 beer go well with
that, I had fish and chips with a Aperol Spritz, they went very well
together.
Finished the day watching the canon salute at 4PM in
Valletta which happens daily at noon and 4. To get to where the gun
salute can be viewed is at the very top of the hill, we of course
were at sea level when we started. This was by far the most steps
and uphill we have seen here. Very pretty on the steps, but I”m
sure glad we are not staying along that street, ours is bad enough.
Smallest
caramel sundae ever at McDonald, it was right beside a gelato place
that looked expensive, so we went to McD. Lets just say next time we
will go next door. Not worth what we paid. Arhhh. It was so cheap and
good sizes in Mexico
Picked
up some olive bread to make a sandwich at home for supper after our
big lunch. We had some cheese lettuce and tomatoes that needed to be
finished. Only 1 more full day here, hard to believe it is going by
so fast. Now that we are here and there are so many places to
explore that we will not have time to visit we definitely could have
used a couple more days or even a full week more. Another adventure
planned for tomorrow as long as it is not windy
