Puerto Morelos day 1

Today we flew from Oaxaca to Puerto Morelos where we are spending our last 5 days.

We have been in PM many times in the last 15 years and it is one of our favorite places to visit with a great beach and snorkeling.

We booked a transfer with Canada Transfers from the Cancun airport to PM.  The ADO bus no longer runs from the airport to PM. We got to our Airbnb around 2PM and headed to Don Ernesto's at the beach to find something to eat. We lucked out and it was happy hour. Drinks were 50% off, so margaritas it was. Regular price was 130 pesos, so $10 Canadian for 2 was good for us.

After lunch we walked the beach and into down as a "Walk Down Memory Lane" as it's been 5 years since we had been here.  Many of the old places are still here but many new places to eats as well have been added. Also lots of new condo building going up.

A 6 story condo going up next to Amar Inn

Casa Kenwal where we first stayed in PM with a group

Star war condos as we call it, where we stayed with Joey

Casa del Sol and Casa Margaritas where 20 of us stayed at in 2014

Needs some TLC

UNICO beach bar

The massage hut is now smaller

Not as many umbrellas as there used to be. This is where we went when we stayed at Amar Inn

Amar Inn, where we stayed the last few times

New development where it was a vacant lot for military.  Looks like it will be housing for military but not sure

Used to be a wine bar/ liquor store

First place we eat at in PM but was on the main square back then.  Dona Triny's

Habanero Cafe, no more fish bowl margaritas
Luis from Amar Inn now has a restaurant in town with a second one opening soon

Tacos.com, been there many times for tacos of course

Their second location has moved.

The new cultural center but not much going on there

The new square in town, not sure we like the update

The pier is being fixed and only a small part is open to walk on

We stopped and said hi to the Marquesitas man, he remembered us
