Chocolate Factory & Elton John

Today Gilles and John are arriving from Palm Springs for a 2 night visit in Las Vegas.

This morning we went on to visit the Ethel M Chocolate factory.  The only reason we went here was groupon again.  The chocolate factory is on the way to Hoover Dam, but we ran out of time the other day so needed to go back to get our chocolate.  It is a self guided tour that of course leads into their shop.  6 tour busses came in while we were there, crazy.  Outside they have a beautiful cactus garden which really made the trip worth while.
Slow day at the Ethel M Chocolate factory

Next stop is Johnny Rockets at Ballys for lunch where we all connect and find out plans for the rest of the day.  Another Groupon deal.
Double decker hamburger at Johnny Rockets and delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter shakes
After lunch we connect with Gilles and John who are staying at the new Linq hotel.  At this point we all split up.  Gilles and John give us a tour of the Venetian, Ceasars Palace Mall, Wynn and Encore,  fun to be with people that kinda know where they are going, Andre and I put on many extra miles just walking around trying to find the “shortest” routes around.

Funky sign I saw

We go our own way as we are all meeting up later for the Elton John  Concert.  Lucille and Bernie won’t be joining us tonight, they saw Elton John in Moncton and decided to plan another show for tonight on their own.

Elton John was really good.  We had seen him in Toronto with Billy Joel and were much more impressed with Billy Joel than Elton John.  In Toronto Elton John had a bad cold and very little interaction with the crowd, tonight was so much better.  It was a great show, lots of fun when you can sing along to so many of the songs.  The show is in Ceasars Palace at the theatre that was built for Celine Dion, so absolutely fantastic acoustics.

Great concert

The VIP rows got to go on stage for one song.  Not us as it would have taken about 20 minutes to get there from our seats.
